Poetic Landscapes and Wildflower Stories
Soft Pastel Paintings *Check Back for New Pieces*

About Me
Jenny Spears
I’m a Kansas native living in Lenexa with my husband, three kids, and a feral black cat. Growing up in the rural Kansas countryside, I spent countless hours exploring the forest in my backyard and reading books outside, sparking my imagination and deepening my love for nature. Art has always been part of my life—my childhood walls were filled with my own creations. After a time away from it, I returned to art, now working primarily with soft pastels.
Through my pastel landscapes and wildflower meadows, I capture more than just a scene—I create emotional narratives that evoke the sense of being there. My paintings are like the pages of a beloved book, telling stories of the Kansas prairies, quiet sunsets, and the fleeting moments of nature that linger in the heart. Inspired by my love for nature, wildflowers, and a touch of mystery, my work invites you to pause and reflect on your own connection to the world around you.
When I’m not in my home studio, you’ll find me barefoot in my garden or listening to live music at local coffee shops and breweries. Through my art, I hope to bring peace, joy, and a sense of imagination to those who experience it.
Thank you for being a part of this journey. I hope you enjoy! <3

Soft Pastel Care
Soft pastels create beautiful, buttery layers of pigment on sanded paper, giving each piece a unique, luminous quality. To ensure your new artwork stays vibrant for years, here are a few tips for care:
**Frame it promptly** For the best clarity and preservation, I recommend framing your piece with UV-protective or Museum glass.
**Keep the protective glassine sheet in place** during transit and until you're ready to frame. This sheet prevents any smudging of the pastel surface.
**Avoid touching the surface** While the high-quality paper minimizes smearing, pastel can still smudge if handled. Once framed, hang your piece out of direct sunlight to prevent fading.
**Keep away from moisture** Pastels are sensitive to humidity, so it’s best to avoid areas like bathrooms.
Enjoy your artwork and the beauty it brings for years to come!
